Paraty

At 250 km from Rio and 100 km from Angra dos Reis is Paraty. The town is a small jewel and is protected by a monument. It is one of the best-preserved colonial cities in Brazil: majestic mansions, baroque churches and cobbled streets, as well as the Forte Defensor Perpétuo fortress, are part of the idyllic backdrop. Paraty is also the starting point for excursions in one of the most beautiful coastal regions of the country. In the vicinity are dozens of small beaches and isolated islands which can easily be reached by boat.
