About Rio de Janeiro
Rio is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Gracefully nestled between the mountains and the sea, it combines a relaxed urban life with the virgin forest and the beach. At the top of the Rio, the mountain is the Corcovado 709 meters high with the statue of Jesus (Cristo Redentor, ie Christ the Redeemer). From its 395 meters high, you can see the picturesque bay of Guanabara with the neighborhoods of Botafogo and Flamengo. To the west are the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, in the background Pedra da Gávea. To the north, you can see the Rio Niterói bridge, the connection to the sun coast. Rio impresses with its savoir-vivre. mixes the old and the new in a joyful atmosphere that welcomes you with open arms and immediately captures your heart. The tour begins at 09:30. You head directly to the historic center of Rio, which we explore on foot. Rio de Janeiro was founded in 1565 and was the capital of Brazil for 197 years. In the center are still many traces of the past. A typical tour takes the semi-circular canals of Lapa, the ancient Carioca aqueduct of 1723. Another highlight is the imperial palace, where the Declaration of Independence of Brazil was signed, as well as the charming little art museum beside it.

Lunch at the Confeitaria Colombo
A visit to this magnificent restaurant opened in 1894 in the center of Rio is a must! In a fraction of a second, you escape the hectic turmoil of the modern city and feel back in the past, at more elegant times.

The bus takes us to the famous football stadium of Maracanã and the Sambodrome, where the big parades of competition take place during the carnival.

Sugar Loaf
Then head to the Sugar Loaf in the Urca district. The Sugar Loaf can be reached by a cable car, divided into two sectors.
The first ride takes you to Urca Hill, 220 meters above sea level. After a first glance and a short walk, you can take the second cable car to the top, 396 meters above sea level, above sea level. From here you have an unforgettable view of the city.
